  1. Thanks! The scoop was for the 6 carb setup on the exterminator dragster.
  2. Thanks. I just went with what I know from being a car guy. It's all pretty obvious when you get into it.
  3. Chopped, channeled, Z'd at the rear. A Big T radiator and shell. A 75% rebuild of a 90s project
  4. The radiator mascot is a piece of translucent red sprue chucked into a Dremel and shaped with sanding sticks. Scrap styrene fin and a stretched amber sprue flame. Coated with Gundam marker chrome.
  5. I stripped the chrome skull shifter to find swirly recycled plastic underneath. I convinced myself that it looked like woodgrain and gave it a coat of rust tinted Detailer. Ill take the shine down with semi gloss. Since it's a t-bucket I thought a nod to Norm Grabowski would make a nice Easter egg. In addition to his rodding contributions, he was a talented woodcarver. His exotic wood skull shifters are pretty pricey
  6. The primered car reminds me of Baskerville's.
  7. The paint is Testors Black Enamel spray. Just as it came from the can.
  8. They're scuffed. The Lindberg slicks are a different plastic, PVC, I don't know. But they don't sand worth a damn. I rounded the shoulders slightly and flat cleared them, too.
  9. Thank you. A 1/8 scale classic first released in '63.
  10. Thanks. No, the Atlantis kit is a little rough. I was seeing more things that needed work than I wanted to deal with. It was not the best 57 kit when it was new. Mine is the Black Widow 150 with the straight axle from the Atlantis kit. It's a solid body. The motor is the from the AMT 37 Chevy. Standard model car blower drive, one piece belt and pulleys with a decal on the belt. The shackles on the rear and the trunk decal, that I painted over, are the only other things from the Atlantis box.
  11. Thanks. It's a decal from the Atlantis 57. I painted over their red car with my body color.
  12. It started as the gasser version of the new Atlantis 57 Chevy release. After a parts vault search, it turned into the Black Widow with the suspension from the Atlantis kit. Plus the BBC from AMT's 37 Chevy.
  13. I built one about 10 years ago. The vinyl had some spotting but still worked. The adhesive was a little aggressive. I got away with clearcoating the decals, too.
  14. The seat and sissy bar were in the kit. I did rake the neck of the frame back a lot. The pedals were repositioned, too.
  15. Yes, the larger ones started as square rod sanded to an oval shape. The smaller ones are round evergreen rod. It's actually pretty strong.
  16. I left my Orange Krate outside overnight. There was a full moon.
  17. I was about 10 when Don Emmons wrote in Model Car Science that Swirladelic paint jobs were cool. That would have been 1970, maybe. I still have most of it. Sure made the graphics hard to read.
  18. Wow, Guy. Seriously. I'll agree, the nicest build of that kit I ever seen. The 1:1 has long been one of my favorite customs and one of my favorite covers.
  19. Taking all of the above into consideration, just gimme it! And if you really love me, do the roadster with the accessory hard top so I don't have to build the Gunze in my collection. Now, what about the 1/8?
  20. The rest of it. The bumpers and windshield are missing too. If I can find the doors and hood, I can bring it back. Color matching is most of the issue if I can't. It's Testor's Silver Blue Met but this many batches later and who knows about matching. The bumpers were painted body color but I'd leave them chrome this time.
  21. This is the first issue of the Revell Chevelle, a combination of both both versions. I haven't found the doors and hood yet. Restore? Yes, I should. It was a nice piece when it was fresh, but many years and moves since and . . .
