  1. Awesome stuff! I didn't take it nearly as far, but this is mine. The bottom one is covered in mahogany veneer
  2. 'll put this at about 80 percent done. It's a bit of a challenge, tolerances are really tight. I've given up on perfect alignment between the engine and the frame. Worked well in mock up. One major issue that wasn't self induced was with the chrome. The wheels and front fender bracket are coated with a semi flat clear. I sprayed this tree with Tamiya clear to brighten the rims, flat coating just the spokes with a brush. The other tree came in a matte finish, I didn't coat this one and the chrome flaked off in huge chunks as I worked with it. Just handling the tree caused a lap full of glitter. I stripped most of it and redid them with various metallic shades. A lot of it wouldn't have been chrome on the 1:1 anyway. Some fit is quite precise. A few mounting holes had to be radiused to accept the locator pins. I could do without working shocks as there have been some compromises in scale to get these into model form, the forks are bigger in diameter than they should be. On the plus side, the engraving is awesome for a kit from 1964. I love the subject matter. Obviously state of the art for the time, it has held up well. I think the original price was around $80. I got this from Tower Hobbies for 29.99. I think $80 would have been overpriced. Photoetched wheels would be an awesome addition.
  3. The '67 Ranchero, as far as I know these have never been done in any scale or medium. I don't think these were even promos
  4. I can't decide if this is a photo or one of the nicest renderings I've ever seen. I found this same image on line with a signature by the rear wheel. Since photos aren't usually signed I think it's an illustration.
  5. I've wondered for years why, except for the Red Baron, why no one has done TD stuff in 1:1. Loved these when they were new, love them now.
  6. I've always had an issue with deciding what my favorite anything is. daddyfink and I both know Alan Day, one of the best box stock builders I know. He did more than a few box art models for Testors. They were good lids.
  7. I thought this was a 16 footer. It scales out to about 13 ft, so it may actually be a bit small. Kinda wish I'd found a blue one instead of salmon
  8. I'll photo with a vehicle soon. i've got it in amongst some models. looks about right to me
  9. WANT! How long have we been asking for a retool mid sixties Ford PU. Awesome! Now hows about a Unibody? love the Novas
  10. Love this kit. I tried to look past the driver inside the full body and can barely see the QC on mine. I've got plenty of slicks that i could transplant if that bothered me (it doesn't). I'm buying more of them.
  11. I found this at Hobby Lobby. from Greenlight, about $19 with the coupon. 1/24 scale. It looks old but Shasta is still making these. There is also a Winnebago from 1964. The decals on the back are from my stash
  12. I was in a band in the Phoenix area, about 1979. We had three Tube songs in our playlist. White punks on dope, I love my television and I forget the other
  13. One of these to go, please in case the photo left again, it's an original Cheetah that I shot at Coronado a few years ago
  14. I had friends in that movie! shot in Mesa, AZ
