Chad Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) As promised, here are the in progress pictures of my revell kenworth( with my own twist ). The truck started as a snap kit in which I have streched the frame out, added a revell t900 Australian hood( thanks JimB ) that I shaved the headlights, I cut open all the doors( they're just set in place so I don't lose them, the sleeper door had a window added. The truck has been lowered in stance by roughly 4-5". I added a set of real aluminum breahers I made when I was in highschool, aluminum pipes with evergreen brackets, a real aluminum chicken wing and a wing I thehood from tony Malone( parts I got years ago, and a set of turnpiker fenders that I got as well I. Parts. The colors are TESTORS copper metallic and M.M black, both covered by M.M gloss pearl clearcoat. The nameof it is "Coppertop". As for the trailer, it's an italeri ABC Express pup trailer that was stretched and made tandem, I'll be building a container out of it. Let me know what you think! SORRY FOR THE CRAPPY CELL PHONE PICS... Chad Edited January 18, 2011 by Chad
cowboysevens Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 ive been waiting 9 1/2 hours to see this truck, does it exist? lol thanks for the teasing !! i cant wait to see it, sounds really nice from your description. dennis
Chad Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 I finally got the pics to load....I do however need to order a few things for it( MCG Piano hinges, and some J bracket headlights, as well as some minor things )....there is still alot needing to be done to this, I still have to detail the motor, paint the motor( I haven't decided to paint it CAT yellow or match the truck ), detail the interior, and detail the brake and air lines and such....still alot to do but it's coming along slowly.... Chad
Chad Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 thank you, it definitely is a VERY versatile kit, I do like building right out of the box, but it's definitely more fun to be creative!!! Chad
cowboysevens Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 it does exist!!!!! wow that thing is sharp lookin, long and LOW. i like ALL of the custom work youve done and the color looks good on it to. gonna be nice when its finished
Jim B Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Nice job, Chad. I'm glad that hood went to good use. I like how you opened the doors on the sleeper. That's a nice touch. The full fenders are a nice touch, as are the Vortox cleaners. Not a fan of the stacks, but that's just me. Colors are really nice.
Chad Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 thank you guys! I really enjoy all the comments. I also added pics of my f350 in the non commercial section as well as a few pics of my real f350....models are my 2nd love LOL Chad
stewart Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Nice custom. I like the custom treatment and paint. STewart
Chad Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 How did u lower it I lowered it by shaving down the front springs as well as the rear air bags and also thinning out the front axle. it was actually really easy....it also looks lower than it is because I made cab and sleeper panels that make it look ALOT lower than it is, especially with lowering the fuel tanks and the step boxes to go along with the cab panels. Thanks for the compliments as well Stewart, that is by far one of the hardest paint jobs I've done since it was a " 3 tone ".....the pearl is practically its own paint color. I will try to get some better pictures of them as well another picture of my newest project( triple axle snap tite kw with a 36" snap pete bunk molded on )....dont have much time to build before I deploy, unfortunately I leave in 3 months and wont have time to build a lonestar Chad
