I was going to put under the drag racing tab, but I thought I would share this with everyone.

A wile back I was talking with one of the mechanics in the shop, just normal bench racing type of banter. And something came up about old front engine cars and rails. I told him that I wish I could have grown up in that generation around that kind of stuff as he did down in souther California, so instead I make up for it with my endless collection of dicast, posters, and other such decor for my hobbie room and shop. A few days go by and he comes up to me and says " hey, I brought you a few things I found in my shed this weekend. I thought you could make something out of them". Going through a pile of old magazine adds, a small poster or 2, I found this in the middle. Now please excuse the poor photo and glare. But I think you can still make it out ok. It looks killer up on the wall in my little man cave. For as old as it is, the signiture is still in good shape. It has just enough wear to make it even cooler I think.

Very cool indeed! We had a few autographed 'handouts' from Don hanging on the garage wall in the shop. Sadly, the fire destroyed them all, along with the ones from Ronnie Sox.

Thats really cool, and for the right price too. My wife and I have went to the Hot rod reunion in Bowling Green KY the last couple of years, we got stuck in traffic for 1.5 hours right where we turn to get into Beech Bend park which sucked really bad. As we inch along checking out all the rods in line I look over to my right and there was Big Daddy himself sitting beside us in his black dually and big trailer. He came out to sell pictures, coffee mugs, hats etc. Of course we had to stop by his booth a couple of hours later to buy some goodies, hes a pretty nice guy and also one of my idols when it comes to drag racing.

Nice find! You gotta love when that happens!

I met George Barris at a car show about 10 years ago. I purchased a $10 calendar from him, and had it autographed. He was more than happy to sign a bunch of my own personal Barris items as well. There were other folks waiting, so I kept a few things in the bag I was carrying, not wanting to take too much of an advantage of the opportunity. As I thanked him and shook his hand, he said, "what else do you have in the bag?" So, I pulled out a set of Target Exclusives; the 1:64 Johnny Lightning Munster Coach and a Dragula. He lifted his sunglasses and stood and looked at both of those for AT LEAST 2 solid minutes with a smile on his face, laid them on the table and signed them both. He then said, "I don't even have THESE in my OWN collection!!". I offered them up, but (thankfully) he gracefully declined.
