Gregg Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Anyone know of a good or close match for the Marlboro Orange? I am building the Revell-Germany BMW M1, have the Scale Production decals for it, thought it would be a good look variant. Thanks
Seattle Mike Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Gregg - try Model Car World. Dave has a Marlboro Red flourescent paint that I've been using for years. You will need to have a bright white base coat for it, and build the fl. red up slowly. The red will dry completely flat, so you will want to put a coat of clear on before decaling the body. Hope this helps!
simonr Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 You could also try to look for Finisher's Formula Red. This is a 2 bottle paints set used to recreate the Ferrari F310B Malboro Red. I got my Finisher's paints from Rainbowten.com in Japan. I don't know if it's the correct match, but, could give it a try, pretty nice stuff, the best paint I've used ever. Scale-Master Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I've been using Tamiya TS-36 Fluorescent Red. (It's what they spec for their Marlboro/McLaren cars.) It needs a white base coat, but dries glossy. A clear coat is nice to really make it shine though. At least it is glossy enough that you can decal right over it without worries of silvering...
