ismaelg Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I would like to get some scale lug nuts. Can someone point me in the right direction? They don't need to "work". Just the looks. Thanks,
gowjobs Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 There used to be some available, but I believe the company is out of business. The problem with model railroad nut/bolt/washer castings is all the bolt heads are four-sided, and not six. I'd bet there are brass or zinc ones available from some watchmakers' supply warehouse or something, but I haven't found them yet.
simonr Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Hey, try very first sourcr, Bob Bentley of R&B Motion at (419)636-0139. Very professional!....and fast. I will email you his catalog. Another source it's ex-galtran company, scalehardware.com, they have also plenty of good stuff. Me dejas saber cualquier cosa. Simon Rivera
Steve H. Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Plastruct or Evergreen (forget which) makes hex rod in various sizes. You can cut pieces to represent bolt heads/nuts.
Exotics_Builder Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 If you're not looking for working lug nuts, try: Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland, who also sell RB Motion parts; or Walthers Raliroad Supplies http://www.walthers.com/ for Grandt line products ( see their web page at http://www.grandtline.com/ ) or http://www.hiroboy.com/ and look for Calibre35 products HTH
hogs29 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 A great tip from the mind of Dave Thibodeau is to use hex fittings from Pro Tech used for thier line of compression fittings. You could also use Detail Master items too.
DaveInTheHat Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Some of the small AN fittings look like lugnuts
