LDO Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Is there a paint that will wrinkle up a little? Can I use masking tape and put semi-gloss paint over it? Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you.
ajulia Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Hello there friend! I was going to post up that I use a roll of Uhaul cardboard tape to replicate leather; vinyl etc' however I noticed the scale size! I recently applied some to the revell 1/12 choppers seat and they look pretty good! Jus not to sure about 1/8.. but whats the worse that could happen tho' Im sure someone will be able to comment on some of their experiences tho! Good luck on yer searches fella!! O' by the way your avatar is really cool!! Love that movie!!! Edited February 27, 2011 by ajulia
Carmikeman Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 i didnt think of it till i read this thread but, what about valve cover wrinkle paint at Autozone. i might have to try that. just paint the seats with it then spray color of choice. just my 2 cents. have a good day builders.
VW Dave Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 It's near impossible to photograph, but I got very favorable results on the seat for my son's Revell chopper by using Krylon 'Make it Suede' textured paint topped with Tamiya semigloss black:
