Modellpularn Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) It's finished. More or less. I'll bring out the polishing kit and some wax for the show here in Stockholm on Saturday. Here's a link to one of the pics Darryl took at the NNL. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/NNLWest2011/NNL_West_2011/Photos.html#316 Edited March 7, 2011 by Modellpularn
Modellpularn Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 No comments at all?? Good or bad..... I've redone the taillight some. Superglued the same grille mesh screen on the backside, and then chrome tape for a reflective backing. Slight difference, and it holds together better now that I'm polishing it.
Terry Sumner Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I'm just guessing but maybe guys don't like to have to click on a link to go and see photos? I dunno. I myself usually pass them up. I'd rather have the photos come up within the post. Anyway I did go and see the model. It's beautiful...nice paint...looks crisp. Question...where's the radiator?
Phildaupho Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Great NNL 2011 photo album. I enjoyed the selection of models featured. Your model really reminds me of the Li'l Deuce Coupe but with a difference.

I might install one later. Guess you're right about the link....
Modellpularn Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Great NNL 2011 photo album. I enjoyed the selection of models featured. Your model really reminds me of the Li'l Deuce Coupe but with a difference. That Beach Boys album was my initial inspiration, and I used the custom front end from the old AMT double kit: '32 Sedan Custom/'40 Willys gasser. But it came out looking kind of clunky, so this was the final result. You can see the old version "on the workbench"
Modellpularn Posted March 13, 2011 Author Posted March 13, 2011 Guess what guys.....?! It won First Place Street Rod at our CCM Open yesterday!! I felt numb when the guy called my name as the winner. I came home, and was totally drained. No sleep after my Friday night shift. Then fix the model, pack stuff to sell, and go to the show. "I'll just sleep a few hours, then go out and work" I woke up about half an hour ago, so I missed the whole night....... It's now 4 O' clock in the morning over here! Oh well, some other day then...
