chaotik Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) I am getting back into models after a loooong time away and I must say, people on this site (especially the truck forum) can do some awesome work!! Awhile back I found some sites that sell scale custom parts....like big stacks, custom fenders, etc. for scale trucks. I followed some links here and found hoods, etc. I remember one site that had everything from custom Pete air cleaners, to wheels, to hoods, to fenders, etc...maybe not around anymore?? My wife heard about me wanting to start doing this again and she came home one day with the Revell 1:24 chrome fuel tanker (believe its german issue..atleast all the text on the box is german!! Hey, Im new!!) I am a Pete guy and I want to make either a stretched frame daycab or a flattop "coffin" sleeper with a stretch for it. I want it to be a 389 and saw on timstrucks.com that he had a resin 389 hood/grill and also the 389 headlights on a project of his. And am looking for any and all help. I work for a company here in Chicago hauling gas/diesel and jet fuels and all of our trucks are 389 stretch daycabs and fully polished Polar tanks...so yeah, I am what they call on the cb...a "tank yanker". And proud of it!! Thanks..cant wait to be part of the group here. And remember...."aint nothing as sweet, as a long nose Pete!!" MIKE Edited March 14, 2011 by chaotik
Ben Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Great to have another truck builder here Mike! Eric (he goes by Porky) has P&P Resins and has most all of what your looking for. Sourkraut has lots of good stuff as well but he's usually sold out. Kit Form Services in England has all kinds of truck stuff but they are geared more towards European trucks. They do have a lot of universal and American stuff too though. I myself have mastered many different wheel and they can be bought through Jamie Rahmoeller (when he gets back to casting) All of these site can be found on Google real quick except for Jamie, he has to be emailed directly. Message me if you would like his email.
cowboysevens Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 welcome to the forum mike, like ben said we are always happy to have another truck builder here. here is eric's (porky) site http://ppvintagekits.com/ he is a lil behind on posting pics of what he has on his site , so if ya dont see what ya want just email him and ask him, im sure he will have what ya need. he is a great guy and a great resin caster. keep us posted on your build, and with the wealth of knowledge on this forum any question you have can be answered in a timely fashion. dennis
