Toast Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 While getting my Mother's house ready to host Christmas dinner this year we found a box of my brother's old model cars. This little 1969 Camaro hadn't even been touched yet! It looked like a fun kit so I took it home and dug into it. It is building up pretty nice. I'm just doing simple painting, no crazy stuff. My only problem is the decals are not cooperating. I'm assuming it's because they're so old but I'm wondering what you guys think. I used Microscale Micro Sol to get the stripe to fit around the cowl. The issue I'm having is the decal did not want to flow over the contour and on some of the flat areas became very wrinkled. I cut the decal along the cowl to get it to lay down, I can touch that up with paint, but even after I soaked the decal again to soften it still wrinkles up. Any ideas are very welcomed! Thanks.
935k3 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Try pressing the decal down with a very hot damp cloth. If the decal is not sticking put some Future white glue underneath.
