ramonesblues Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 The Spaulding Ignition was produced from the mid '40s into the early sixties by Tom Spaulding, a well known SoCal hot rodder.there is a pic of a flathead with a Grant spaulding magneto with two coils. www.flatheadv8.freeserve.co.uk/rides7.htm. Hope this helps.
Guest zebm1 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 OK Ken, found some postings from 2005, sum forum called H.A.M.B. I had to convert 5 of these pics from jpeg to bmp files, sos yu can read them, I hope their not too large. Got sum color pics of a Spaulding and an installation in a Chevy engined Hotrod. so here goes.... Ken I think if yu look close enuff, yu can see that yu have 4 plug wires coming out and 1 coil wire going in per side. also two separate condensors. Hope this helps yu with yur problem Ken. Zeb's mind is  now.
Jairus Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Dang Henry! I was looking for pictures of that for an Ask Gregg and Jairus question. Where did you find them? How'd you like a job writing the column... Ask Gregg and Henry? Ask Gregg and Zeb? Hmmmmmm, then you can get the hate mail. I like it!
Guest zebm1 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 It's in tha question and where tha question is asked Jairus. I used one of tha oldest Search engines on tha web, mamma.com, and asked for Grant/Spaulding ignition distributors..... and then, I perused old open forum postings...had to go back to 12/31/05 to find it all on one thread. Go ahead J. use tha stuff in Ask G&J&Z... Now I gotta find me a blueprint of a Cooper Monaco Can-Am chassis........
