I know... Im tired of the cold and snow. Its all good for a while.. but when it starts taking up like 6 months of the year, it gets old. Puts a damper on alot of projects that I actually need to work on, lol.

Managed to get the roof and accent lines masked off last night... and it was nice enough today for me to get my base coat. Before and after pics of being coated.

Pulled the tape off the car, and wow.. it came out good. These shots are fresh, no trimwork done.. and I mocked up the rear end to show the big carrier for the continental kit that will be mounted. :)

Update on the Pacer.... I got all the trimwork masked off, and got it painted... I didnt take pics yet. I noticed some extremely small lettering in the grill area, and in the bigwhite accent part, along with the word "Pacer" up on the front panel. How can I paint this stuff? Its REALLY fine work, even for me.

Steve,

You've made a lot more progress on your one Edsel than I have made on the four sitting on my workbench :D

Nice job on the masking for the two-tone paint job. Not looking forward to doing that :D

How are you planning on getting rid of the seam on the rear panel? I attatched the rear panels and did the bodywork before I primered and painted. I found that to be easier :D

Are you planning on using Bare Metal Foil for all the trim? You could try BMF all the scripts, but it looks tough. I saved up and invested in a Model Car Garage 1958 Edsel photoetch set, which will help me eliminate have to try and paint all the little letters

Don't worry about the cold, you'll see Spring a lot sooner than I will here Da UP, eh

Love those Edsels!!

Cheers, Ian

Bare Metal Foil. Nope, never used the stuff.... didnt know it existed till I joined this forum.

Letters, I didnt know they made a photo etch kit....

I need to go back and do some more trimwork, as when I painted it, pulled the tape later... it got under, just tiny lil spots.

In reference to the seam in the rear, I really dont know yet. I will have to sit and think that one out.

The 2 tone job, I cheated on. I primered it all white, masked off the areas I wanted to remain white, and painted everything in flat black. Ill do all my detailing, then clearcoat the whole car.. and hopefully Presto! Gloss Black finish.:)
