DRG Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 The Dr. tells me I have had a series of strokes. To me that is strange as I feel no different now than I did several month's ago. I have noticed that I tire easily. And I get distracted easily. Paula, my wife, says I have forgotten a lot of things from our younger years. Heck, I'm getting old, you expected something different.
Eshaver Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Unfournately , this describes a mild stroke . I would sugest a good Cardiologist and perhaps a stress test to see how severe the damage you incurred . Ed Shaver
Guest Johnny Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 The long term memory issue probably has nothing really to do with it. Just be glad it isn't the other way around because we know what that indicates. My wife had he stroke around 9 months ago and has recovered really well and has even returned to work. But like you they told her that at some point prior she has suffered mini strokes. Now that we look back at some issues she has had in the last few years we can see where it may have been syptoms of these small strokes she was having when nothing showed on he cardiac tests at the time. There usually are causes that can be identified and a few that could be hard to or have cleared up since. In my wifes case they believe small clots forming on her artificial heart valve was the cause. Plus bad veins in her legs. Yes fatigue is a lasting symptom of a stroke. They told her it could take years to get back to normal, if ever. Get a good cardiologist and follow his instructions to the letter.!
crazyjim Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 That doesn't sound too good, Don. What's the doc going to do for you? Want me to take of your kits until you're feeling better?
