Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 What's goin' on... Here's one of several projects I recently finished! http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/View?u=406...=0&res=high This is a tipper trailer (trash) built along the lines of a Mclain EZ Pack,MAC,and an older J&J. It's 98% scratchbuilt. The suspension is from the old IMC van trailer kit the bulkhead is from the US MAIL (AMT) Trailmobile pup and the rims are modified AMT (10 hole aluminum style) to be BUDDS. Thanks for looking! Scott
Old Albion Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Scott, This is different, don't think I've seen a scale Trash Trailer before. Great idea, great build.
SpreadAxle Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I had trouble getting the link to work too, but the idea sounds cool.
rottin1 Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Can't get to the pictures. The link doesn't work!!!
Old Albion Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I can view the photo on my PC. For those who are having difficulties I copied it so I could post it see below. This trailer is great work by Scott and well worth seeing. Hope I haven't stole your thunder Scott, but I thought it was a great idea and a great build and well worth sharing with everyone. Superb!
Turbo590 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Scott, Boy, you nailed the details on this transfer trailer. Dave, Thank you for posting it. I had trouble retreiving/viewing it also. Living in Western PA, and J and J bodies/trailers out my back door..I see alot of these..on the roads...these would traditional have "walking" floors.... Nice build. Kurt McLucas
JdKustomModels Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 J&J has a couple walking floor trailers still out on their lot. I was out there yesterday to pick up my cousin who just got called back after layoffs took place. If anyone has ever heard or seen fire apparatus from New Lexington Fire Equipment who had to shut down because the owner wasn't paying bills, its been rumored that J&J might pick up and start building fire apparatus.
Old Albion Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 This trailer would look good with an old Mack up front!
SpreadAxle Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Living in western Pennsylvania myself, and being someone who regularly "haunted" I 80, this build gave me flashbacks from driving that road everyday. Awesome. Simply awesome. You inspired another trip to the drawing board for me.
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 What's goin' on... Thanks for the compliments on this one! Excuse the delay in repling. My computer spun a main bearing so when I get the chance I use my folks comp. As soon as Uncle Sam sends my taxes back then I'll get a new system. Anyway I work for a trucking company that pulls these trailers, roll offs (spread axle) and walking floors. Being in the garage seeing these things, and knowing how to fix em' helps out for building reference. In this link are some pictures I took of one of the J&J Walking floors out at work a while back. This one is a 2006. I took these for reference to build a 25th scale one. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumIndex...32296275&f= Dave thanks for reposting the picture for me!
