  1. No Kidding!! Me too!! I did happen to put a bid in on that one! Never came close though!!
  2. That thing is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET! Love the big bunk, the paint job is really nice, all the goodies added!! Very nice looking ride!
  3. No offense, peterbilt's are my favorite truck, but those are some ugly headlights!! If I were to buy an 08 I would change them to the old style for sure!!!
  4. Not to mention if you didn't get all the wedges and nuts mounted on even, the outside rim would wobble. Also if they weren't on tight, the outside rim would spin and sheer off the valve stem. They only thing I ever liked about them was how they looked on the old trucks when some of the guys would paint them up nice. Daytons look nice when the spokes where paint the same color as the frame and the outside rim was painted the same as the cab colors.
  5. Definetly a unique looking truck. I like the color! What color is that anyways? Any motor shots?? I can't help you with the picture posting info because that's one of my downfalls. I need to sharpen my picture taking skills and learning more about posting, cropping and stuff like that. 1st thing I know I need to do is update my camera, but even then I'm lost when it comes to the new fangled cameras and megapixels and stuff like that!!
  6. SWEET looking Reo here!! I like the Blue wheel rings on the front tires...nice touch!!!
  7. Lee: I have the complete wrecker body from the Can Do wrecker. I would be willing to trade it for something. I have no use for it except for the marker lights and the slam locks. Those I want to keep. Let me know if thats something you would consider. Doesn't hurt to ask!! Nice job on this one as well Lee. Nice looking truck. I like how you used the old style lights on her!
  8. That's why we're all glad your here Tim! Your endless facts and information! I know it helps me!When I built my second snap tite truck I cut the sleeper off and grafted the backside of an old amt 359. The reason I did that, not only to have the window but the rivot detail as well. It's funny you should mention the sleeper idea. I was toying around with the cut off sleeper a couple off weeks ago with the Yellow 359 I'm rebuilding for my auto trailer. I was stting it on the frame of the truck to see what a skinny bunk would look like on the Revell Germany truck. It looked really nice with that wheelbase. And then I came up with the idea for one of my future builds. I have a Revell Can do tow truck. I am going to build the truck without the wrecker and put the bunk from the snaptite truck on her. I bought that wrecker kit for the parts anyways.
  9. Very nice job on the Holmes !! Very impressive scratch building. It does make it look like an old vintage wrecker. I'm impressed.
  10. Nice truck as well. You need to come up with some door decals for your fleet though......maybe....... " CRASHALOT TOWING" Now there's a name for a towing company!
  11. Now that's sweet as well! I like your theme,I really do. A all wrecker fleet! Nice job. I also like the way you use the outdoors for taking picture. Now all you have to do is get the highway crew to lay some new asphalt over the old wooden road. Followed by the line painting crew!! Looks good man, keep up the good work!
  12. Very cool fleet you have going on! I'm with John on the Transtar. I like that one the best myself. I also like how you accomodated the wrecker body to fit the fuel tank in. Nice touch. Very nice looking truck. The others are just as nice but I'm partial to the International. Now is the White KW the Revell kit? How was that one to build? Some time back I was wanting one of those but really couldn't afford it and it was hard to find. I see very few on eBay. I was just wondering if it was nice as the other Revell kits. Johnny
  13. Good looking Diamond Reo's. A couple of months ago I picked up one of those kits. I think it's the later version because the boxart shows a Black tractor. I think the box with the Green Reo is the original. I can't wait to start it. I remember building one of thes like 20 some years ago. It was givin away to a friend in a box of trucks and trailers because I wanted out of the hobby. Now I wished I had that box of trucks back now that I have gotten back into the hobby.Nice job on all of your builds. I like the wrecker collection you have going on.
  14. Jerry: I totaly agree with you. That's why I have been buying some already built kits to do just that:rebuild them because it's cheaper. Actually I think it's more challanging rebuilding. The Pete auto carrier that I have shown pictures of on this website is just that: a $50.00 score of eBay for both the tractor and trailer. There is no way I could buy one either on eBay or from somewhere else for $50.00 new in box! Johnny
  15. That guy Riley (from Texas) on eBay is out of his gourd!!! I laugh when I see his auctions. He's trying to score big cash for his stuff. They can sit on his shelf till they rot for the price he's asking. Everytime I see his auctions end with no bids I smile. Then he always post pics of the model he's selling in front of like 10 unbuilt Bill Signs Pete's! WHO CARES!! Hey Riley, We're not impressed because you have 10 unbuilt Bill Signs Petes!! Stuff like that burns me to no end! As far as the Bill Signs Peterbilt, It's no better then any other pete kit, I don't care if it has extra lights and fancy straight pipes. Build your own straight pipes for crying out loud. Experiment for a change! And the spread in between the Bill Signs Peterbilt axle's looks like ######. Looks like a Canadian spread. ( No offense to Canada). I just don't like the looks of the spread. Between the old AMT Petes, the Revell of Germany Pete and the snap tite pete you have enough options that you do not need the Bill Signs Pete. Let them sit on a shelf somewhere and collect dust!! Hopefull , and I mean hopefully, some day all those kits will be reissued and that should leave all those greedy people holding on to a bunch of worthless kits to them!! Hopefully!! I gotta go have a smoke, now that my blood pressure up!!
  16. I like both kits myself. The Revell snap tite truck is a great kitbasher and has an awesome looking cat motor in it. Alot of possibilites with that one. The Revell of Germany kit is one of the best out there and is still readily available at a decent price. Around $45.00 around here at our LHS. I have 2 unbuilt snap tite trucks left and 1 Revell of Germany pete left on my shelf. Buy them both, you won't be disappointed. The snap tite kit usually runs around $20.00 + tax. Enjoy
  17. Kurt: Thanks for the reply. After seeing your outcome with this stuff, I'm going to have to break out the airbrush and try it. My buddy has some, but he doesn't have an airbrush and we're dying to try it so I guess i'm the guinea pig! Thanks again Kurt!
  18. Kurt: Exactly what all parts did you use the Alclade on? Just the tanks? I really like the way that stuff looks! I was just curious if you had done the front bumper as well. I still can't get over the WOW factor on this one. Unbelievable!!
  19. Dan: I've tried several times emailing you through your website. Are your getting them, because I haven't received any replies. I would like to order 3 sheets of your peel and stick marker lights and would like to know how much shipping is going to be?? Could you help me out?? Thanks! Johnny
  20. One word, WOW!!!!!!!! Awesome job. Like Tim said: Definetly raised the bar on this one!! Looks better than most real trucks!!!
  21. I've bid on a couple of these on eBay, and not to my surprise they go for way more than I want to pay. I want to stretch one out, put a big bumper on it. These are nice looking kits when done. You really don't see too many of them. I definetly buy one if they come out.
  22. I'm with Tim. Let's see some bigger pictures. That thing looks awesome from what I can see of it. I was always a big Marmon fan. There used to be alot of them running around here in New York and PA.
  23. Ok folks, First I aplogize for the crappy pics. New camera for Christmas the wife tells me! I managed to finish the tractor completely. I've been focusing now on finishing my trailer. It's painted and cleared. I've added the red and silver reflecting DOT stripe underneath it. I decided to put decals on this one. Most all my others have no trucking names on them. Lack of decent decals I like. Still trying to figure out how to make my own. I used the decals out of the Alaskan Hauler kit I have. The are the same color as my truck. Black with Yellow letters. I tried enlarging the decal from the tractor, and was successfull in enlarging it, but the color has faded. So I'll try again with the decals for the trailer. I've painted all the marker lights, added Alaska license plates on both truck and trailer. I also painted the little handles for the hydraulics. I'm going to attemp and run individual hydraulic lines to the cylinders. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-006S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-008S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-009S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-010S.jpg
