  1. Looking good so far!!! Really clean so far. How about a better close up of the bed?? Keep up the nice work.
  2. Looking good so far Albert! Makes me want to hurry up and finish my auto rack, so I can get back to work on my single axle! Nice job Albert and keep the pics coming!
  3. Dave: Funny you should bring that auction to our attention! I was going to put a bid in on it, hoping to finally score one! I would have sold the other 3 at a more decent price than what they go for on eBay. I would have bid $150.00 for the four, but the mininmum bid was $200.00.............lol! I guess I'll have to continue to wait for another one to come down the line!!!
  4. Twist: Now that's the wrecker that should be coming out! That's sharp! Nice color combo, clean, crisp paint, clean build! Really looks nice!
  5. Sharp looking frame and motor!! I love that color you decided to go with. Looks really nice so far! Keep up the nice work.EXCELLENT!!!
  6. I finally have the bunk mounted on. The bunk interior is all finished as well. I stripped the chrome off the headache rack because it was in pretty rough shape. I painted that Duplicolor Chrome. I modified the rear light bar a little bit. I added a deck plate from a AMT model. I still have to add a few little things like the hood ornament, bug deflector, air lines, some more Pete emblems and fix the cross bracket on the mirrors and add spot mirrors, add the alluminum cab extensions. She'll be all done tonight. I've gone ahead and shot the first coat of Yellow on the trailer. I'm going to shoot 2 more coats then clear coat. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-029S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-031S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-004S.jpg
  7. Ok' here's a few updated pics of the tractor. I've gotten the motor all done along with the duct work for the breathers. I went with Black air cleaners with stainless straps. Square turn signals. Bumper is curtiousy of Mo aluminum. I'm going to redo the mirror cross brackets. I have to make a longer set of them. The stock ones didn't meet up with the top brackets. There lined up properly just didn't meet. I'm putting the interior in the bunk tonight and then I should have the bunk all ready to mount. I'm working on the rear light bar as well tonight. I'm going with a Black rear light bar as well. The trailer that's going with this Pete is getting it's primer coat tonight. Trailers going to be same Yellow as the tractor is. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-026S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-025S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-024S.jpg The last pic is a piture of all the trucks that have com off my workbench in the last year and half. I don't really build too fast! http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...on/MVC-023S.jpg
  8. That truck is awesome! It has workhorse written all over it! I really like the weathering and when it's put outside like that makes it even much more real looking. It's a work of art!!!
  9. Looking good so far!! I like it when someone thinks outside the box and puts their mind to work. What did you use for wheels and tires? Aftermarket? The look good on it! There's a couple of you guys that build fire trucks on here and there all really nice jobs. It's bad enough, there's not very many kits for us regular truck builders, but I imagine the choices for fire trucks is even slimmer. Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming!!
  10. Twist: Nice looking ride there. The duals do look better underneath the trailer. I said in one of my earlier post that I would probably get another kit and build it like the way you did. I really like the Kenworth. Good idea with the AMT sleeper too. Nice job!!
  11. Twist: Thanks! That does look good. I'll definetly use that for reference. Flip that pic around and lets see the front of the tractor!!!
  12. Finished up the tool boxes with slam locks. Added fenders to each wheel. Made my own hucaps for the wheels. I didn't like the pointy ones that came with the kit. I started painting the straps in between the ratchet and the buckle. I'll finish that this weekend. Those are flat black. I've made up the connections underneath the trailer for the glad hands. I'll show them all hooked up when I get it completely done and ready for final pictures. The only major thing left is to fab up the back end of the trailer to make it more american instead of european. All in all I think it's turning out better than I thought, exspecially now that the fenders and tool boxes are on. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...de/MVC-020S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...de/MVC-021S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...de/MVC-022S.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...de/MVC-019S.jpg
  13. Absolutley awesome work on both of them!! The weathering is top notch and ads so much more realism. I think both of you guys really know what your doing and have a good grasp on modeling skills and weathering skills. I find myself going back and taking other looks at your pictures. Everytime I do I find something different in the picture that I hadn't before. It kind of makes me want to try it so bad, but I'm afraid they wouldn't even come close to your skills, then I'd be mad at myself for screwing the paint job up on mine...LOL!! Excellent, excellent work you two!! You guys should be proud of your skills and thank you for sharing!!
  14. Dan: I like what you've done so far. I imagine you'll do a fine job!!!! I do plan on sending in my pics as well of my new builds. Tim: You did an awesome job when you had your website. My friend Ronnie, got me back into modeling after a long absense from the hobby. He was the one that told me about your website. I've started a website as well, but have no clue on what I'm doing, so now it sits idle while i figure out what to do and how to do it!!Ever since I've been checking out your site, i've been in awe!!!! Your work on your trucks is absolutley stunning. Your attention to detail is remarkable. Your research amazes me. Your facts on Peterbilt Motors is second to none. And how you pump out models one after another still baffles me....lol. I can't figure out how you find the time to do all that modeling. I would love to build trucks on a steady basis like yourself, but I just don't have the time. Thank you for what you have contributed to the hobby of model truck building and thank you for inspiring a bunch of us. Enjoy your free time. Johnny
  15. I'm with Jim! Nice detailing on this truck. I like how the back window roll up cover is missing a strap. The weathering looks awesome too. It's little details like this, that bring a model more to life. Excellent work on the Mack! Very nice. Johnny
  16. Vince: Our paths almost did cross. I was going through your pictures last night and I noticed in the second to last picture. You took a picture of the back of the Red Peterbilt that the Chrome Shop Mafia built and theres a guy there getting ready to take a picture of his wife with the Chrome shop boys. My wife and I were standing with them in line talking to them! We were next in line behind her to get autographs. Small world! We're definelty going next year and I'll take you up on that meet and greet! I think it would be neat to meet somebody from here. The Dodge Big Horn was a cool truck. We watched it pull in and park, and I told my wife,"there's a truck you don't see much of anymore". By the way, what did you do to your pictures? I went to save the Blue Kenworth cabover to my screensaver and it said protected. Is that something you did? Just wondering. Thanks again for the really nice pictures you've shared. Johnny
  17. Nice pictures Vince. The wife and I just returned home tonight from Carlisle. We spent Friday and Saturday there.Probably walked right by you 50 times!!! Awesome show and awesome equipment there. I was in my glory. There weather was perfect for it too. And to kick things off, we took an hour drive Saturday night over to Buck,Pa and caught the Lucas Oil tractor pulls. If we had known about it before hand, we could have caught the sprint cars at Williams Grove Friday night. I'd definetly go to Carlisle again. Awesome show and alot of stuff to do.
  18. Greg: That's the same Spencer who goes by my house sometimes pulling the bull racks. He's out of Pennslyvania, right? Where exactly is Spencers at? Hopefully he's close to Carlisle! It also looks like that Marmon that sits down the road from me is in the photo too! I see your Pete as well. I can't wait till tomorrow (Friday). We're headed down to Carlisle,PA for this weekends big truck show. I am definelty taking pictures and will share them here. Can't freaking wait!!!!! Nice pics Greg!!
  19. Tim: I would like to know, how big that highway board is you made and what you made it out of. Just curious. I would like to build something similar to that, so I could take better pictures by having that to display them on. i would like to add some background material like a guardrail and maybe some scenic background such as trees and bushes. Kind of like a diorama. Again: another superb build on your part! Thanks!
  20. Sweeeeeet! I like how you used a flat black on it! Something different! Can't wait to see the cab assembly sitting on the frame. I want to see how it looks lowered. A friend of mine lowered one and it looks tough. I like also, how you used the Pete for the background . Looking good Greg!
  21. That looks good! I like how your trying to build something after a real company truck. i have a friend of mine (my ex employer) who has a Pete 379 single bunk Pete. He wants me to try and build one and paint it like his. After seeing you try it, I guess I will to, after all my non finished projects are done! Nice work so far. Can't wait to see more of yours!!
  22. Thanks Tim! I had removed the back of the cab, because I was going to try and make a double bunk cabover using the daycab and back half of the full cabover. After looking at it and thinking I could have 2 cabover freightliners instead of 1, I decided to go this way. That and the fact these kits are like Gold on eBay. I used the tires from an old Ertl kkit, the wheels came from the AMT t-600 Kenworth. The fuel tanks are from the Revell snap Peterbilt. The cummins motor accidently fell in front of my can of Cat Yellow paint!! I also noticed that the passenger side front steer, sticks out just a bit beyond the cab. I'm going to have to knock that rim off and sand down the hub a little bit, to get it to sit in a little more. There's are model show coming up in September here, and I'd like to enter a couple of these builds in it. It would be the first time for me for something like that. I want to enter this truck, as well as my Pete and curtainside trailer, my Kenworth with the cattle wagon and my Pete and Auto rack. Hopefully I can get these all buttoned up by then. Once I get those done, I'm taking a break from the big trucks and starting work on the Old Meister Breau Pulling tractor. I'm building that for my father in law for Christmas. Thanks for looking.
  23. Like I said in one of my other post, I have way to much going on. Here's another one on the workbench. This was once built up as a CF truck by me when I was younger. The years took its toll on it , so I decided to give it a restoration as well. I'm not quite sure whether it's going to be Blue with a White stripe or a black stripe. It's going to have twin straight pipes as well as dual air intakes. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t121/ro...0Single%20Axle/ Thanks for looking.
  24. Semi: I do believe there where 2 trees in this kit. That's the only drawback with buying an open kit on Ebay. Opening it up and finding out there's parts or even complete trees missing. Unless your buying it for just that reason:parts! Ahhhh! Good old "sell as is". Is that what your looking for? Light bars that sit on top of the truck? I have the R/G Can-do wrecker. I have used some of the parts out of that kit and haven't decided what to do with the rest. I know I'm going to use the frames, cab and stuff, but as for the wrecker parts, I really have no use for them and was going to try and sell them on eBay. If the lights can be of use to you,I'll see if I can dig them up and would gladly send them to you. I've been trying to "score" one of those kits you have and the R/G w900 dump truck. Once in a while you'll see them on eBay, but go for way more than I want to spend for one. Let me know if I can help you out.
