prostockmania Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 What do you guys use on darker molded plastic models to keep bleed thru from happening??
Darren B Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 My fav is dupli color filler primer, its great for covering the plastic and it helps hide any pin holes in putty.

highway Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Me three, I usually also use their sealer primer for bodies molded in anything other than gray or white, too.
MikeMc Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 (edited) And when none of these will cover red bleed thru(Firefighter mustang)..Bob Downie reccomends using "BIN' sealer between layers of primer I tried duplacolor sealer and even silver...I shoot hot lacquers so bleeding is a problem with some colored plastics. If you shoot Tamiya colors, as Mark does, use the Tamiya primers....if you can get them Edited April 14, 2011 by Stasch

MikeMc Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Thats the stuff i heard about, where can i get it at Bob, Local Home Depot or Lowes?? just about any hardware store will carry it. I will tell you that it airbrushes well if thinned with alcohol..other wise good luck out of the can...awful nozzels. It works well if applied over a layer of primer, as it doesn't have a lot of tooth. Then recoat with primer and hit it with color. Some will tell you that metalizers also will work....again I shoot hot lacquers and this is the 1 trick...I do use all 3 types of duplacolor primers on a normal basis...but BIN seals the best since Floquil removed "barrier" from the shelves
