.......so basicly all of this build up was just for a comercial ??? If anybody else on this forum tried to do the same thing they would get booted.

The doc's videos can be avoided by you if you so choose. Nobody is being forced to view them. Sounds like an easy solution to me. :)

Besides, what did everyone expect he was going to do? Send everyone here 3 cases of model kits? Travel to each and everyones residence to do all your paint polishing for you?

Maybe... some here had there hopes set just a tad too high?

Finally, it should be noted that Doc's videos seem to be posted with the full permission and support of the management of this board.... which, it sadly must be again pointed out, Gregg pays for.

Wow, Slantasaurus, it sounds like you are a hard person to please. Holy smokes, and NO, it was not meant as a commercial, it was meant as a cause for celebration because last time I checked there are few model car books on the market, by this point, probably none.

Nobody wants to do them these days because they say there's no money in it and they are right, except that AK-INTERACTIVE and the Lab-RAT-ory are thinking of bringing new products to the market specifically for Model Car Builders. Ways to invigorate the hobby, etc . . .

And I agree with you, since obviously this does seem like a commercial, I will tell you what I tell my students all the time: If you think it is easy or not a big deal, then here's my advice: Sit down, write your own book, open your own YouTUBE Channel, invent your own product, and put it out there on the market . . . do something to try to help as many people in this hobby as it is humanly possible, be generous and forgiving, and always keep an open mind about where the hobby is headed.

It's simple to do, so do it! Just my ten cents, buddy, and no hard feelings!

I'm sure someone would chime in and say that they would never want a free 400 dollar airbrush because what's the use . . . right?

;)

Already got three airbrushes & two compressors, so no loss to me. ;)

Dr. Cranky can tell the future too !!! Spooky.......:lol::lol:

I've learned alot from his "How to" videos, It's great that he takes the time to help people the way he does. Got me motivated to dig my air brush out and give it another try, just got the regulator and water trap in the mail-and it's ready to go-so I'll be following his helpful videos

Wow, Cecil, that's a great set up on that compressor. How many PSIs do you get from it. I'm assuming it's a Badger compressor or something like it. 1.2?

Hope you airbrush your heart out, buddy. We need out Daily Eye-Candy Allowance! B)

Thank, Dr. Cranky.

It's a Paasche compressor that I bought a few years ago with a cheap air brush,

Now I have a Paasche "H" air brush set, and the last piece of the puzzle was the regulator, then had to go to the hardware store to get the copper pipe and fittings. The whole set up was right at $200.00---your 'How To' videos are priceless !!

Thanks for doing them !!

Thanks, buddy, can you tell me what kind of PSI pressure you get from it. I ask because I am looking at getting a lightweight portable compressor to take on the road, and I remember I had one like yours but without the modifications you've made to it . . . etc . . .

That's an older model compressor, Dr. Cranky, they say it puts out up to 40psi.

I just got the regulator Friday afternoon and haven't had time to fire it up yet to find out for my self how it works.

Maybe we could have an autographed copy of your new book ?

Well, folks... after considering this for a while (and taking into account the posts from some members here who have a problem with this thread)... I've decided to lock it.

On the one hand, I can see where this type of topic can be seen by some as a "commercial," and an instance of "selling," which isn't supposed to take place here. On the other hand, I can also see this as a positive contribution to the forum, and one that will interest many members... and not really "selling," but more of an FYI on an upcoming product that may interest people.

A few members have made it very clear that they have an issue with this topic, while others have been supportive, even enthusiastic.

So... it wasn't easy to decide what to do. Both sides of the argument have a valid point. But the whole petty argument over who likes Cranky's videos and who doesn't is pointless. I have my own personal opinion, of course, but I'm supposed to be neutral. That being the case, I've decided to lock this thread (but not remove it). The information is here for those who are interested, so no further comment is really necessary. I'll leave it visible for those who might be interested. And for those of you who were offended, bored, uninterested or whatever... I hope this ends the problem for you.
