I started with the AMT 1951 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe kit. This kit is horrible, but with patience and skill it can be a nice shelf piece. I'm gonna attempt to make a Gasser out of this. Everyone here knows I can't leave anything alone when it comes to styrene. So, with that said, I've made the front and rear springs, spring perches, straight tube axel, spindles, tube connecting rod, and the front frame extension all from scratch. I removed the front stock suspension pieces and filed the frame down smooth as well. Engine is still in experimental stages. Enough blabbin' let's get y'all up to speed on this build!

Phase 2 ;)

To solve the frame issues I glue the interior floor to the frame. That worked! Here you can also see the front springs, perches, and straight axel tube are in place as well.

Ok, I got the pics for the third part of this shindig uploaded!

Here's where we achieve Lift Off! The front end is mostly complete in mock up stages. Next will be time to tear it all down, paint, and reassemble it all. So with that said. Enjoy!

Underside and the rear end where I filled in the gas tank and spare tire hump.

And the stance that I might tweak a bit. Needs to come down in the front a tad. I did lower the rear end 2 to 2.5 inches, but couldn't go any further without opening the wheel arches some more.

Until next time. Engine is next! Enjoy! B)

Great Stance, Tumbler! I noticed on mine that the body is a bit warped too... the left fender always seems higher than the right, and it throws off the hood line up!

Good looking Gasser! These are great! I like the way, you built the chassis. Front axle system looks GOOD! I like this stance. Just bought Revell's '50 Austin Gasser, because I love these cars with high front suspension... Great work so far, I'll keep watching this one until the end. :P
