I been wandering about this along time, If i wanted to make a trade with you and i sent you a pm on your item and you sent me imformation back, How long should you wait to hear from me before you contact another person next in line. Just wandering, ive had people cantact me on items i had up for trade, send them imfo and never hear from them and had other people waiting in line for the item, and i have even sent them pms. So just wandering, i thought maybe 2 weeks what do you think, how long do you wait. I know sometimes things happen and you just cant get back to computer. Oh this is not pointed at anyone, this happened a while back to me but just getting around to asking question, thanks

I've had this happen to me tons of times with hockey cards. Most of the time people are just to lazy to respond back if they decided they don't want the item anymore. I've sent PM's to someone like 2 more times after they were interested and contacted me, got no response and they were online that day. If you don't hear anything within 2 days usually, I'd move on. Because it's taking away from you being able to make money.

Darrin,

Good question. If I'm interested in trading from someone, and for some reason I can't swing it, I try to let them know right away. But thats me

Everyone knows life gets in the way, but I try to be courteous.

To answer your question, maybe a week or ten days? Your call, I guess

Cheers, Ian

After you send them the information, pictures or what ever give them a few days to respond.

Remember most have a life away from the computer and may have limited time to check back. Now that don't mean wait forever either. I think a followup PM by you a few days after letting them know that if you do not hear back in two days you will move on to another trader.

This way you are trying to communicate and have given them a chance.

Like said you can check to see if they have been online in the couple days since you sent them the information. Also an email through thier profile might get their attention too!

Just a thought. I just did a trade with another member. There was a big lapse in communication. It turned out the for some unknown reason his PM's were not getting to me. So make sure that yours are getting through to them.

I guess that makes sense too... my situation was different cause this guy was posting everyday and he never sent me a pm again even wondering if I sent him anything.

In that case I would have PM'd him a couple times after verifying he was online and if got no reply move on to the next person in line! Sounds like they really wern't interested and didn't want to bother with it. (had one like that too)

Also along the lines of time, don't forget our PM system here shows the last time that either party involved viewed the PMs. I would say if they have read the message and not responded within maybe two or three days, send another PM and double check. If the times in the PM show they have read the second message and still not bothered to respond after another day, move on to the next offer in line.

On a side note, which I had happen recently with a trade offer I was working on, if you have someone interested in trading and you ask them a question and the person answers your question, ANSWER THEM! I made an offer and the other party and they asked me a question, which I answered and they read after I replied with the answer, and that member never seen fit to respond to my answer. That tells me your not worthy to be on my trade list, and have been added to my personal "BAD TRADER" list!

Yeah Sportscardforum.com has a different board set up so I wouldn't have been able to know. And it was for a PSP so I eventually sold it, not long after actually to some other person within Michigan actually. So it all worked out :D
