diymirage Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 i would not want to get into that truck and sit in those seats after it has sit in the 90 degree sun for a few hours looks like your making some nice progress on it though
rocsas2 Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 (edited) i tried to make it like leather with what i had.but there is actual material like that paint.it isnt as shiny but same color. Edited May 19, 2011 by rocsas2
charlie8575 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I hope those seats aren't as shiny as they look! I would suggest the following. Go outside when it's sunny and see how the interior looks. If it's still somewhat shiny, do the following: Get a bottle of Testors semi-gloss and flat clear lacquers. Use the semi-gloss on the seats, that will make it look more leather-like. Now, take a plastic bathroom cup, mix about a 2:1 of flat and semi-gloss and apply that to the side-panels and dash. That will approximate the vinyl. Brush straight flat clear on the floor. Another issue: Turn on some ambient lighting when taking pictures and don't take the pictures as close. The flash is overpowering the picture and causing the actual "shine" to mis-register. That aside, nice work. Charlie Larkin
rocsas2 Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 thanks ill have to trie that. the interior isnt as shiny as it looks in pics but could be less shiny. thanks
