W-409 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Scratchbuilt front axle... I built it from square brass tube what I used to Falcon also. It could be better, but it can be installed in this Rat Rod. I could have done this one lots of better, but this is built just for fun. In a side of those better models.
W-409 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Wheels and front axle painted. I have no picture of that front axle, but tomorrow I get it installed, then comes a picture from it. But anyway, the wheels are here, they are resin parts (I didn't cast them, I could not do that nice job with them.)
Nick Notarangelo Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Woah, interesting frame choice. Is that built with left-over sprue? I like it. Keep it going. Hey if you look at your sprue's really close, you can find some good frame and or sub frame setups all set to go Virgil.
W-409 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 This is the last update before Under Glass post. It's now on four wheels. Those tires are from my parts box, and wheels are resin, as I said. Front axle is scratchbuilt from brass. Also fuel tank is installed, fuel line on its place, some carburetor detailing done, installed the air cleaner, grille sectioned, painted and installed, headlights on, brake master cylinder on...... Still lots of things to do, brake lines, steering wheel, painting etc. But tomorrow it needs to be finished for the local Model car show, on saturday. Thanks for looking. No burning rubber with this one...
W-409 Posted October 8, 2011 Author Posted October 8, 2011 That Rat Rod is FINISHED, and I'll post in on Under Glass section soon... Thanks for all of you, who have posted comments to this build. And next Hot Rod project will be in "Cars Of Rock 'n' Roll And Country Music" CBP. Thanks for following, other projects in this thread are keeping this topic still alive. (Hopefully)
