trey allen Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 What do you guys usually do? On my 910, I painted the inside of the bottom pan first. Masked off, and painted the outside. I am now having coverage problems, and paint is building where I masked. I wouldn't have had this problem if I painted the outside first, and then the inside. I know I can take care of the buildup, it will just take elbow grease. I have had coverage problems on the sides of the model. I don't know what the deal is. I have painted, wet sanded, painted again. Looks like another round of wetsanding, and hope that takes care of it.
Ben Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I paint the outsie first. It's easier to mask off from the outside, the finish doesn't need to be as perfect as the outside and you can get away with brush painting on the inside. I would wait until the paint has cured a good long time on the outside before masking though.
bbowser Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I do the inside first. That way any overspray from the outside can be touched up after where it is less noticable. I find it difficult to mask the outside and not have overspray from the inside get through. All a matter of preference
