BigBad Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Very nice! I like the colors and the choice of stripe colors, just like on the real truck of the I see you updated the truck a little with newer style door handles, fuel tank steps, boxed cab step and behind the cab air intake. I can`t see the cab seam aft of the door, you did a real nice job there! Anything else that we don't see? Is it the old non-turbo Cummins in there? By the way, what did you use for the door handles?
m4A3E2 sherman Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 thanks all zo6bob i used slam locks i got from KFS for the door handles and tank steps and staks it has a cummins turbo i got from GMS he has a lot of good stuff all of the KFS thins i got from Chris at sauerkraut. thanks for looking
BigBad Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Alright, thanks for the info Sherman! I did that kit last summer, I liked it but it didn`t come out as nice as this. Your`s really stands out. Maybe I should try my hand at another one! Did you have to shorten the front axle to make it fit better under that cab? Mine sticks out too much for my taste. Unless I install some 'rubber' mudgards on the cab wheel openings. Also, does your cab tilt properly with that front license plate support? If I make another one, this item will not be on there for sure. Again, great rendition of an old favorite!
m4A3E2 sherman Posted May 30, 2011 Author Posted May 30, 2011 zo6bob no i didnt have any problems with front axle. and the plate holde i made it the way it supossed to be it is hinged at its top i made a hinge out of rod and cut off the locater. on the back side and hung it even with bottem of the cab in real life it swings up to get at some thing cant rember just what. its been a long time. my uncle drove one and i would help him service it. in the summer he hauled hogs. to john morrell in ottmua iowa larry
