Frank Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 does anyone do a commercial (truck)32 ford grill shell. I am building 32 BB truck and the grill shell is different to the car.
Craig Irwin Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Is the one in the Linbdurg (ex AMT) 34 Ford pickup kit the right one?
duesie Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Per my reference book on Ford trucks of the 1 1/2 ton, Ford used the car fenders, hood and grill. The 1934 Ford has a slight slant to the grill and is different as per Lindberg kit. I am using the amt 32 Ford fenders, grill and hood on mine that I am building. The 1932 cab has only one molding on back of cab and only used the 4 cylinder engine as all v8's went to car production. I have read that the MPC switcher 32 grill actually has a little better roll at the crown of the grill. Hope this can help. Ma's Resin at http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/ has the correct wheels and tires for the Ford Trucks. I order 3 sets from Alan after a years search. Great product and a great guy here on the site. I also build Duesenbergs that I hope to post later. Larry

Had a look at Ma's wheels, have to get me some of them, not sure of the white walls on a truck though. I am attempting to buils a stock version of all the body syles Fords had in 1932, getting all the parts together. Revell only building street rods is a pain, means converting the Chassis back to stock and chasing up stock front and rear ends that are suitable.

duesie Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Grandma's Resin also has the tires in blackwall with Firestone on the sidewall. Firestone was a camping buddy to Ford. The Johan classic Mercedes and Cadillac kits have the same tires. The wheels and tire from these kits can also be used on the 29 ford trucks. The rear end is the most difficult part that I am still struggling with on my build. May substitue the 28 Lincoln rear end as a temporary until issue solved. Best of luck and hope to see the results here.
Art Anderson Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Essentially, a '32 Ford Commercial" (trucks and station wagons) grille shell is the same as the '34, except that where the '33-'34 grilles are slanted backwards a few degrees, the '32 is straight up and down, perfectly vertical. This isn't a hard thing to correct, just a bit of filing and sanding of the top of the shell to mate it up to a '32 Ford hood is all it takes. Art
