gautreau Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 this thing is looking pretty good, cant wait to see more.........there is more isnt there..............i really hope there is more Thanx there is more to come.I just need to light a fire under myself to get something done.I hope to have some if not all of the rear link bars done by the end of the weekend.
gautreau Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Finally got some motivation and time to put some work into this build.Plus my deadline for this build and 2 others is getting closer.I got the link bars done finally. They are made from 1/16" styrene rod and puch pins. Here's a fron view. From the top you can see the original link bars don't quite reach.I have since stated to build new bars for the top. Finally the rear view.I have to build the upper and lower bags brackets. The lower bracket will sit on the bar and the upper will be built onto the step notch. Thanx for lookin' Jeremy
gautreau Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Got the rear suspension pretty much all wrapped up.Got the airbags done as well. One by itself. 'Bags sitting in place on the lower bars. Upper brackets installed. I'll be starting on the front suspension later this week. Thanx for lookin' Jeremy
wraith Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Looking good! I have always wanted to try to scratchbuild a custom frame like this for a truck. maybe someday!
gautreau Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 Looking good! I have always wanted to try to scratchbuild a custom frame like this for a truck. maybe someday! Thanx, I appreciate the compliment. They are not that hard to build once you build the first one.
gautreau Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Got my new inner box panels built today. This last pics makes me not want to stop working on this build even though I have to sleep sometime(eventually). I should have another update by friday at the latest hopefully. gautreau Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 Well got a little more done.I scratchbuilt 2 optima batteries. This pic show the batteries and the fuel-cell mocker up in place. This last pic I thought just looked cool. Thanx for lookin'. Jeremy
hotrod59f100 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 What size styrene did you use on the frame? I wanna build a frame for my ram lil red express but never used the stuff + my lhs doesn't carry it. Good job BTW
gautreau Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 Thanx I appreciate the comp.I either use .100 x .250 rectangular rod or tubing to build my frames.

gautreau Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Clear bedfloor center made from a cd case. I just need to build the wheel tubs and mounting brackets to mount the bed to the frame. Then I can start on the front suspension. Thanx for lookin'. Jeremy
gautreau Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 I wasn't really liking the clear bedfloor idea plus in my head my dream truck didn't have one so I revamped the bedfloor to suite my vision. The front and rear areas of the bedfloor will be made from .060" sheet styrene and the tubs are made from the centers of spray can lids. I'll be adding more to the rear of the bed to cover the fuel cell. Thanx for lookin'. Jeremy
tooltas Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 looks great the clear bed on this truck is no no so far it going to be a nice show truck
gautreau Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Finished the bedfloor. Going to start building the air tanks tonight once I get the dimensions I need. Thanx for lookin'. Jeremy

gautreau Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Scratchbuilt 2 5 gallon airtanks tonight. Next I'll be finishing up the bodywork on the inner & outer bed. Thanx for lookin'. Jeremy
gautreau Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Got the 1st of 2 air compressors built for this build. I still need to fine tune the details of the compressor. Here is what I went off of for dimesions. Thanx for lookin' Jeremy
