gbdolfans Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I hope this is allowed. If not, please delete it. To all our fellow Canadian modelers:I am listing some models on the bog auction site. I want to be able to sell and ship to Canada, but with the strike,I don't know.there could be delays and increased costs to ship by another service. I would like to hear from all of you on this. Again,If this is too political,I am sorry Mods. George
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Right now, it's a rotating strike which means some will be impacted while some won't. It's unknown if it'll turn into a general strike.
GTMust Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) I just bought a couple of items, one from the US and one from Vancouver, BC. I suggested to the sellers that (if they wished), they could hold the items and mail them after the strike issue is settled, or mail them now and I will take my chances as to when they arrive here (if ever!). I did this, because I found the cost to send by UPS or Fedex is so exhorbitant, my "deal" purchases became more like a Fifth Avenue purchase. So, I guess "we pays our money and we take our choice". Hope this helps. Tony Edited June 3, 2011 by GTMust
gbdolfans Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 Tony and John, Thanks for your input.John, that is a weird way to do a strike. Tony,I would love to have more bidders like you.I think that is a great idea on your part and will suggest that in my listings. Thanks again, George
CEKPETHO BCE Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Really bad timing for the strike, I just bought a fujimi GTR from a seller in the states and its supposed to be here any day.
kitbash1 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 This is just one reason why I'm getting a UPS account. Canada Post has been loosing customers for the last 5 to 10 years because of the internet and the ability to do alot more on line. Also the union that reprsents the workers is living in the past when it comes to wages and benifits it's asking for in it's contract with canada Post. My wife and I get 90% of our bills sent to us online and we also pay our bills on line or drop off payment to the hydro and water folks. The postal service in this country and the USA are going the way of the dodo.
