The EXT technically isn't a pickup; it's a sport-utility truck. And, the Revell kit was originally intended to a diecast, but got diverted to plastic due to high zinc costs.

Having said those things, I think those kits may have reinforced the notion that modern truck kits aren't that popular because I don't think either of them were world-beaters sales-wise, either. In fact, IIRC, both of 'em wound up in Big Lots!

There were 2 revell escalades, one was the uptown junk, the other was a curbside full detail. Revell also did an uptown ext, and amt did a full detail one. Ertl made a pretty decent 2000s diecast dodge ram in 1:24 scale too.
