62rebel Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 planning out a representation of the Ron Dunn '50 Ford coupe; and wondering what the engine/trans combo was and if it even had ANY modifications from stock flathead V8? read through SEVERAL articles and photo album but NONE had an engine pic or details about the powerplant.
Chuck Most Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I believe today the car has a Ford Y-Block, or small block Chevy with Ford Y-block valve covers and air cleaner. I don't remember which. There was an article on it in Custom Rodder a few years back, I'll see if I can find it- it did mention the engine, I don't recall if it included a photo of the engine, but I think there was one underhood shot.

Seems it used a Stock engine according to Paragraph 3 here: http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Ron_Dunn's_1950_Ford That'd make it either a Flathead 6 or 8 but they didn't say which. Ed
62rebel Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 missed that part of the article when i read it... wow. so... i'm open to put any engine i want into my "tribute" model.... well; circa 1953-57 era, no newer.
