Chuck Most Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 (edited) Some of you will recognize this- It was 'in the shop' to repair some damage last weekend, and earlier this week, I decided to make a few changes. Add whitewalls, an axle strap for the back, and maybe lose that boooooring round air cleaner. So here's what I did= I painted the whitewalls onto the existing rear tires, and was careful not to make them look TOO nice, going over them with fine grit paper later to expose the letters. The front tires are the rears from a Revell Rat Rods series kit, with a '49 Ford cap on one side and a '48 on the other. I added a Mr.Gasket scoop, and an old trophy topper to the engine to act as the oil filler cap. Out back, I used a hitch from a Revell Midget kit to mount the scratchbuilt axle wrap. It has tire tread to serve as the straps, and tie the look into the tire tread-clad front bumper. An that's about it, Vern.
