i did one tuner steering wheel the same way you are doing that one, cast like 6, but sold them already

so the center behind the steering wheel is a good start im pouring the mold tomorrow

Will you be venting it? You may catch an air bubble in the circle of the steering wheel.

pressure pot, i changed the mold up and went for a squish type

finally after making the molds i made a part my resin went bad tho the humidity here sucksit also marks the success of pancake molds, the grill is casted and molded the same way.

If you have a vacuum setup you can save old resin by sucking out the moisture. Ive yet to get a centrifugal vacuum pump but plan on it in a few weeks.

ive yet to get one but i got some fresh resin today i tried the hobby lobby alumilite stuff and it makes a better concrete crack filler than it does a casting resin so i went back to smooth on.

I didnt like alumilite resin either, I tried about 5 companies, and smooth-on remains king. The new Onyx slow is awesome for hard resin tires. How are you liking the mold star? I want to try it when I'm done with my gallon of mold max

I just picked up some mold star myself to try out. Hopefully will work with it this week. What kind of issues are you guys having with the Alumilite stuff? Curious because I was thinking of trying some SmoothOn resin myself. Been through a bunch of batches of Alumilite white with pretty good success. What is it that your liking about smooth on as opposed to Alumilite? Steering wheels lookin good by the way.

the stuff hobby lobby sells is pure ###### kicks way too fast somewhere in under a minute it has no real use for what i cast. theres no local dealers for alumilite just smooth on i was looking for a cheaper alternative at the time but it paid off to pay the extra two bucks to have a slower kick time.

There lack of mix time options arent good for me.

Now with the summer heat, smooth-cast 305/321 is my go to resin. (real world times its about 5minute gel time with 35min demold for wheels)

I have a reynold sam in boston, so if I order before 10am the night before I need it, it comes next day with regular ups ground! I cant beat that anywhere hehe.
