It's one of my most favorite 1/25th scale drag/ski boat models, and the subject of my first On-Line How-To. Just click on each image at the attached link, and the 28 how-to steps are displayed individually. There are also about 15 or so out-take photos of the completed model.

Those are rattle-can painted stripes...and not decals???....wow!!...That, more than anything else impresses me the most...outstanding fade paint work! Wow again..!!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback...looking at my Fotki site stats it appears that quite a few of you clicked on the above and went to the site for the full how-to details.

Summarizing the paint approach briefly (you can go to the site if you want more details), I used a nine-color spray can paint fade comprimsed of Testors One Coat Metalflake-style Lacquer spray paints over the Silver Metalflake color in the same paint line, topped by One Coat Wet Look Clear, rubbed out with Tamiya Rubbing Compound and finished with The Treatment Model Car Wax. The panels were taped off with Tamiya masking tape before the nine color fade was sprayed.
