Sully Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Thanks to Jeffs build of the Bulletnose Gasser, I knew I had to get me one . I didn't want to do the same type of build as Jeff ( ) so I am doing mine Pro Street style. Here's a few mock up pics of what I have done so far. I have alot of chassis work to do yet, mainly reinforcing, this is a very heavy casting as Jeff had said. Just got finished turning up two front steel axle pins on my Lathe.Tomorrow some reinforcing rods for the frame........... All comments, suggestions, good or bad are welcome....... The stance is pretty much set, but I might try some different wheel combos. Thanks for lookin........ Sully
jeffs396 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This is looking sinister already Dave!!! These cars are mean looking whether they are nose up, or down! The original black sure looks good with this theme, especially since the purple power took the silver off of the stone guards, door handles, trim, etc. It really makes me feel good that I could inspire someone, now if I could just work on my kids Looking forward to more
Sully Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Thanks for the comments Jeff........means alot ! I agree, it does have that mean look. A Stude with Attitude.......... I still need to cut out the dog house. Might have to wait until the weekend for that. Sully
Sully Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) Got a little bit of work in on the Stude. Lowered the rear, have the paint striped. Removed the door handles and the fender spears.Still need to reinforce the chassis. The weight of this casting is hard on the front suspention. I hope these are better pics........ jeffs396 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Looking good my friend! Yes, much better pics, black is really tough to photograph without a lighter background and LOTS of light. I like the lowered stance, and those BIG rear meats Once you get the doghouse cut out Dave, that gets rid of quite a bit of weight, hopefully the chassis will then handle the weight without actual spring steel leafs and coils!
bbowser Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 This is very cool! Are you putting it back to black or?
Sully Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks for the comments guys. Bruce........still not set on a color yet. Been leaning towards a Candy Cobalt Blue....... Sully
