TexasFinest Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Hey guys this is my first thread here. Anyway this is a replica of my real Super Bee #277 of only 425 made! I used Testors Hemi Orange along with Testors Clear Coat. Tried to get is as close as possible to my car, I even black out the rear tail lights. Not my best work though still needs some final touches. Let me know what you think.
Skydime Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) This actually looks like the Lindberg kit. With the Uptown Charger, there are many giveaway styling ques in the body as well. The lower front bumper is not cut out, there is a sunroof, the headlights have holes for the lenses on the ends, there are no door handles, the stock grille is made a bit differently and the hood hinges are toward the middle of the firewall instead of on the ends of the hood where they should be. The wheels are sourced from another kit or the aftermarket (to my Knowledge). I know they weren't borrowed from the Uptown Charger because mine did not come with them, nor did my Uptown 300C (that got crushed). On a side note, I saw the Lindberg Superbee at Ollie's in Barboursville, WV the other day for $8.00. They had about 10 of them. So, if someone lives in that area, and wants a cheap Superbee, there ya go. Edited July 27, 2011 by Skydime
Skydime Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 LOL, NP. I am usually working customer service when I post. So, I am usually talking out my rear and not realizing it on here. I just happened to be cleaning mine at the exact time I saw this post.
Skydime Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) You know, you're right...I was thrown off by the box in the background. Maybe that's his Mopar collection...or on his donate to us list... Edited July 27, 2011 by Skydime
TexasFinest Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 This kit is a Lindberg. I wanted to do a replica of my car that's why I decided to go with these wheels even though they don't match exactly but it's the closest I could find. The Revell Uptown & the Revell Super Bee were not my first choices but I kept searching until I found the Lindberg! I knew it had more detail and I knew the final product would be better. The Revells were too simple and lacked detail. Thanks for the views and tips. Here are a few pics of my actual car for reference the headlight halos are orange because I have halos on my car so I wanted to repicate that aswell.
TexasFinest Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Also the Lindberg kit does not have the bottom grills cut out either I painted them black to appear like they were. I'm gonna build another kit but just as a regular SRT.
Mopar - D Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Mike nice Super Bee's. I'm sure you don't see your color Super Bee very offen. I'm getting my 3rd Challenger kit together this time I ordered my paint from dodge and a photo edge kit.
RodneyBad Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 The Model looks as nice as the 1:1 does. Nice Chargers..
redknight Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Nicely done! A friend of mine has a twin to your Super Bee except his still has the stock rims. His is #37 of 425. Sharp car indeed!

I'm getting my 3rd Challenger kit together this time I ordered my paint from dodge and a photo edge kit. Yeah not often at all. Where did you get your paint from? I want to do a challenger also and paint it Surf blue. Testors doesn't have (or at least I didn't find it) Surf Blue like they did Hemi Orange. How do you install the photo etched parts any help would be appreciated Thanks for your comments. Nicely done! A friend of mine has a twin to your Super Bee except his still has the stock rims.
