69A-CAR Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hey, I am building the Freightliner DD with the 250 Cummins. What is a good color of spray bomb for the engine and what color should the trans be?? Many thanks, Mark
Guest Markus355 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 tamiya's light sand is an ok match from what i can tell
Gray Smith Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 testors flat light aircraft grey ( i think) is close too...plus it can be bought anywhere (this is the base testors stuff you get at micheals/ac moore)
catd11rpusher Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I think cummins biege is the right color, I had to order it from cummins. I don't know the trans color, I hope that is right
Jim B Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) The Cummins Beige I got from Dupli-Color was way too dark; almost brown. I've had good luck with Tamiya Deck Tan XF-55. It might be a little light, but I like it. Also, Scale Finishes offers Cummins Beige. Edited August 4, 2011 by Jim B
Pollock Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 would that be the same color for the 460 cummins?
69A-CAR Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Thanks all, Jim I have that Duplicolor stuff and it is very brown, I am just trying to get something close. Heck the box shows it in Cat Yellow! Mark
scale trucker Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 the newer 460 cummins is black with red valve covers..the older 250 cummins is a light tan.try model master flat light armor sand..i used this and worked real good
