Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Does anyone know whatever became of Leon? He ran Cobra Colors for a while and then? Any updates? I always loved his models, in particular a GTO he built that still remains one of the most impressive models I've ever seen. Thank you.
Mike Kucaba Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Don't really know, but I bought some stuff in 2009 or 2010 on ebay and it turned out it was him. i used to see him sometime at CARSIM,a club both of us were in back in Illinois. He was somewhat instrumental in getting me to ditch hobby type paints and go with regular automotive stuff like PPG and DuPont . Primarily the clear lacquers and thinners. Of course his colors were the BOMB :D
MonoPed Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Leon's paints were nice... still have four bottles hiding in the stash...
High octane Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Leon Tefft had left C.A.R.S. in Miniature several years ago and as far as I know, he is not really in the hobby anymore and probably devoting all his time to his career.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 I guess we all have a right to leave the hobby whenever we want or for whatever reason, but he sure built some nice models. If anyone has access to an old web page or pictures of his work, please share them . . . thank you.
High octane Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Some of the guys still have some of the Cobra Colors in their stash.
Tonioseven Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I still have some of his paint and I can vouch for the fact that he is a really nice guy to deal with!! That GTO was called "Supernatural" if I remember. It was on the cover of Car Modeler magazine.
