I started out painting this with The Kustom Kolors by Valspar,(not to be confused with the real HOK stuff) . I used one of the color shifts and didn't like it so stripped and re-primed in white and it sat and sat.I had some cans of the Testor's 1 coat so on it went. I decided to try and see if I could do fog/fade with spray cans. here it is with PPG dca 468 clear overall.

Yo! Mike. A 1/16th Predicta?

Are you scratching that one up, or is it a kitbash based on .... what?

What are you gonna do for a bubbletop?

Hmmmmmm. I'm interested!

That color combo looks really good and nice job with the spray cans! Can you offer an tips or insight on your method to accomplish this? I'd love to try something similar on a project I'm working on. Thanks!

Tips? That was my first attempt. :D:rolleyes: I heated up all three cans of color.Put the model on a holder and sprayed away. I went with lighter color on the bottom and worked my way up holding the can very close and moving very fast . I believe thats the way to do a fade, wet on wet,but avoid runs.

It's kitbashed so far from just a "55 t-bird. The back end is covered because it looks like a fresh kill with a dull knife  I'm going to attempt to cast a 1/18th '59 Buick so I can get the rear quarters from it.

Nice, thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to just try this out myself and see what happens.

What were the 3 colors you used. I think I see Lime Ice and Firey Orange...what's the third one?

Funny you mention that because I call it the curse of the painted body. I always try (these days) to paint the body last because I have so many painted a body and then I lose interest. So it goes.

I think this one deserves to be finished.
