streetisneat Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Does anyone know if I need to use Primer with Model Master Metalizer Spray Paint. Thanks for any info.
Monty Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I created a post on here awhile back asking the same question. For some reason I can't seem to find the thread, but the consensus was don't use primer underneath Metalizers. OTOH, make sure the plastic is as perfect as you can get it (mold lines removed, etc).
Terry Sumner Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 (edited) No...do not use primers under metalizers. They work best on highly polished bare plastic. In fact, the smoother the better! Edited August 16, 2011 by Terry Sumner
scalenut Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I have sprayed it over primer with sucess , I buffed the primer with a pantyhose first and it gave the metallic a realistic sheen, like raw metal. But it is not necessary to prime first.
