novadose71 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Being built factory stock, I started with this MPC promo and some Kieth Marks decals. I will be using the rally wheels from a Daisy's RR kit and some pre-printed Polyglas tires from a diecast All disassembled with a sink marks filled on the body I'll spare you the primer pic and show it with the Spinnaker White base, stripe decals and clear sprayed over. Got a nice blue fiber in the clear on the hood (Grrrrr) so I will have to tape it and respray it this coming weekend.........I do like it with these slots n meats on it Interior with decals and embossing powder carpet done. I spent most of the weekend detailing the rest of the interior and it's almost done, but no pics yet. Thanks for checking it out, hope to update later this week
Repstock Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Very nice! Those interior decals look great! I've got an unbuilt kit to build someday, thanks for the inspiration!
Guest Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Looks nice Rob! Where are the interior decals from? They really make that interior stand out!
Junkman Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Looks nice Rob! Where are the interior decals from? They really make that interior stand out! Where are the interior decals from II.?
kelson Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Looks really awesome so far,a much better look than the color that promo is molded in.
novadose71 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) Looks nice Rob! Where are the interior decals from? They really make that interior stand out! Thanks guys. The interior really stands out on this one and "makes" the car, but unfortunately the decals by Bill Goldbach, are no longer made. I think this set killed his ALPS. RodneyBad Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Looks great white with the stripe. Wheels and Interior looks good too.
novadose71 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) Dash is mostly done, just need to find a Roadrunner decal and tone down the glove box lock....maybe even make a thinner shifter stalk. Yeah Joe, I agree on the wheels but I'm building this for someone else who like em showroom fresh...I can still play around with wheels on it till it's gone Edited August 23, 2011 by novadose71
novadose71 Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 I got the grille and headlights detail painted this morning And the interior is pretty much done....just a couple of small details to take care of. On to the taillights, wheels and finish up the body
Dr. Cranky Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Love the interior. It's going to be a fun build, that's for sure.
bandit1 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 ooohhhh! me likey what me see's! i need to finish some of my projects! its just getting there is the issue!
Keef Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 looks nice, i might redo my bracket racer and go back stock with it
Agent G Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Nice clean build! Now that brings back memories. I bought a one year old '75 Road Runner in San Diego. I paid $3800 and traded in my gas hog '71 Riviera. All you old guys remember the gas crisis in the mid 70's when prices shot to an astounding $1.25 a gallon? Where'd you get the promo?
