oldscool Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 If I do the interior in the 66 Impala SS in black and white, would the headliner be black or white? I searched on Google already and what pics I can find don't show the headliner. gus
exnyman Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I'm thinking it would be black, but cannot find anything to verify that either. I know the 68-69's with the parchment (white) interior did have black carpet and headliner. I believe that started with the 65 model year but again, have not been able to verify it.
Guest Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The headliner will be the same color as the seats and door panels.
sak Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 goto some car shows in your area any chance you get. Ayways good way to see things like that.

Crazy Ed Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Hi Gus this ought to help. It's a restored '66 Imp. Black Carpet and everything else is White. Center image second row shows the inside of the B Pillar and it's clearly White. http://classiccars.com/listing-215735/1966-chevrolet-impala-ss-for-sale-in-montreal-quebec-h1r2y7.html Crazy Ed
Guest Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Lee,my statement is fact. Yours is a guess. My parents owned a '66 Bel Air for years. I owned a Caprice for over twenty. I looked at tons of Impalas in junkyards and the cars that did still have the headliners were seat/door panel color. Note that this example has white seats/door panels with a blue package tray and a white headliner. http://images.classiccars.com/classifieds/170847_11052384_1966_Chevrolet_Impala%2BSS.jpg
Crazy Ed Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 And here's an unrestored twin to Rogers car! http://classiccars.com/listing-133465/1966-chevrolet-impala-ss-for-sale-in-los-lunas-new-mexico-87002.html Crazy Ed
oldscool Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 Wow, thanks for the links gentlemen. Just what I was looking for to detail the whole interior. I kinda thought it would be white but wanted to be sure as I am not really a Chevy man but I like the older Impalas. If it were a Mopar I could detail the interior from memory. gus
