62rebel Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Car Modeler ran a cartoon once showing a guy being hauled off to the looney bin, as one of the paramedics explains to the other, "he tried to bare metal foil a '58 Impala!" great job, Nick, it's really going to be a nice one.
Nick Winter Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Thanks guys, Curt: pretty close, had to do it in a few sitting so my hair didn't curl and fall out. anywho: Nick

GTMust Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 That paint looks awesome Nick. What are you using for primer, paint and polishing materials? Tony
Nick Winter Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 First off thank you Ontario Tony's, thank you Jim, and thank you Mike That paint looks awesome Nick. What are you using for primer, paint and polishing materials? Tony Thanks Tony This car had Plasti-kote Mr.Spray Red Oxide Primer (M-19), Duplicolor Automotive Laquer Dodge Flash Red (DSCC351), Duplicolor Acrylic Crystal Clear (CDA1692) and I gave it one good polishing with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 (G10307C) all of which I either got at Canadian Tire or Parts Source, maybe Parts Man, can't remember where I got the Plasti-kote Looks great, Nick. I gotta say, your building has improved incredibly in the past year or so. Keep up the great work! Thanks Tony, I really appreciate comments like yours, it makes me want to progress farther, and learn new things and of course try ned products and techniques as I go. Nick
Nick Winter Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Well, interior's nearly done, just gotta do the dash and steering wheel.
Nick Winter Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Engine nearly done Yep I made a Generator Bracket and a Oil Filter decal, also changed out the molded in oil filter. Nick
Tony T Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 The interior looks good, Nick. The engine, too. While the generator bracket is a bit thick, it is a lot better than it sticking out in mid-air!!
camaro73 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Excellent work on the interior and the motor! I love the seats.
Nick Winter Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Thanks guys, did a bit more, getting very close now, can almost see it now. Finished the engine, added the trim pieces to the nose and glued the tailights in at last nights club meet. Nick
Rob McKee Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hey Nick, that looks great. The interior is awesome with the colors and detail you put into it. I can't wait to see the end result. Rob
Nick Winter Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Good news is Rob, you won't have to wait long, wrapped it up this morning after I shoveled out the drives. Nick
