martinfan5 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Hey guys, here is my one my newest builds I have started, like most everyone else I love smokey and the bandit movies. But for some reason I never got around to building any of the trans am. Well last week I decided I wanted to build bandits trans am, and that snowballed into me wanting to build all three trans am for the three movies. I have found the kit to use for the third movie, going to use a old mpc 82 firebird, now I just need to find a 79/80 trans am So here is the build for the 77 trans am from part one. body is primed, still need to some body work I am not sure if I am happy with the interior, I may redo it.
martinfan5 Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) Making some progress, I am not in a hurry as I still have not got the decals needed for it yet. \ Edited October 2, 2011 by martinfan5
martinfan5 Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Thanks DR. , now if I can stop having bad luck with painting the body I would be happy. I dont know what is going on, but I am having nothing but problems. I have three different types of black paint and all are causing problems.

martinfan5 Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Well after a little over a week and about six trips to the purple bath to strip the paint, and after four different types of paint, I think I have managed to get a decent paint job I can live with. I still need to clear it but giving it time to dry and gas out.
martinfan5 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Well here is where I am at with this build, I still havent got around to getting the decals yet, and I need to finish up detailing the engine compartment.
