scummy Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) G,day , it's most urgent for the people who have brought the cavalier resin australian model cars to check them as the tyres ARE MELTING ! Several people here have looked at their kits to find that the tyres are in different stages of melting , one of mine the tyres had gone like chewing gum but i was able to pull it off the rims but the other one had gone to liquid and run over the seats and grille and other parts in the bag . So if anybody has brought one of the , torana, mad max , falcons or any others check them ASAP . Edited October 3, 2011 by scummy
Hypermung Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Thanks for that. I've got a HT 350 Monaro with the pewter rims that I've had in the stash for a lot of years. I'd better check it out. Come to think of it, this kit is from the late 90's (when I think Cavalier were moulding them over here?). Aren't they being moulded in China these days?. That may be the problem.....
Chuck Most Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Is it just the tires? I don't have any Cavalier kits at the moment, but I do intend on picking up a few of them.
novadose71 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Excuse me for reposting a pic but that is one great looking Monaro. Is this still offered by Cavalier or is getting lucky on ebay my only option?
Hypermung Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Excuse me for reposting a pic but that is one great looking Monaro. Is this still offered by Cavalier or is getting lucky on ebay my only option? I'm afraid you're out of luck Rob. This hasn't been made for 10 years or more & I consider it the rarest kit in my stash. This is actually the only one I've ever seen on ebay in 6 years or so & it wasn't cheap when I got it, but you never know, you may get lucky....
Hypermung Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I've just been thinking Rob, even if you can't get a Cavalier HT Monaro, you can always get a HK Monaro (1 year earlier) in a curbside resin kit from 'The Parts Box' http://www.thepartsbox.com/
novadose71 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Cool, thanks Glen. That HK will do just fine.
