MicroNitro Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks to Gregg putting such a nice piece on my wheels in his magazine I have had no time to build models. I have had time to do just the motor from the Fujimi 356 Carrera B model. The only mods I did was turn some carb stacks and pulleys the carb linkage I also made. Now I have to go back to making wheels and brake hubs. Thanks Jim Wow this new forum is easy to post on!
Dr. Cranky Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Nice engine, and it looks like it belongs in a vehicle or as a part of a diorama. Nice work.
djway3474 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 those stacks pulleys and linkage really improve the looks of that motor. I use parts from that motor on my VW projects and spice up the looks a bit Great job
RodneyBad Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Super looking engine. Can't wait to see the car it goes in
surfjunke Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Great looking motor. Would look cool in the Tamiya Karmann Ghia.
warra48 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Lovely looking motor, great job. I've built a few of these. The engines have two distributors, and are twin plugs for each cylinder, should you ever wish to wire it up further. It looks really cool when you use different coloured plug leads from each distributor.
jbwelda Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) heres one: yours looks killer; next one i do i am going to have to deal with that seam...those velocity stacks look very nice too...did you make them or find them somewhere aftermarket? take a look at this if you're interested: http://www.modelcars...nn&fromsearch=1 i hope to finish that up this winter... its too kool how fujimi includes that engine stand and the internal detail to display half apart. just a great kit even with the fit problems. excellent source of VW/Porsche hop up parts Edited October 7, 2011 by jbwelda
Rob Z Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 That's one fine looking engine, hope you get some time to build the rest of the car... With details like that on just the engine, the rest is going to be KILLER...
MicroNitro Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the complements. jbwelda: Your Ghia looks awesome my wife drove a Ghia about 20 years ago. I have not gotten nearly that far with my Porsche. I made the stacks and pulleys on the lathe. warra48: I had plug wires on it and the exhaust but I didn't think that looked right on the stand. I like the two colors I will have to do that on the one going in the car. thanks Edited October 10, 2011 by MicroNitro
