revshag Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Any thoughts on how to replicate this trim? There was a company that made a trans kit for the Fall Guy truck and it included photo-etched trim. But the kit is no longer available. Custom photo-etch is not in the budget. I thought about using a piece of strip styrene and scribing lines in it. The problem I've been running in to is that the strip is flexible and I can't run a scribe along it to get a straight line. I'd appreciate any ideas or how to improve my idea. Thanks, Chris
Scale-Master Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Yes, strip stock much as Jacen described. I would "build it" onto the truck body, ideally before painting the body. That way if you needed to fine tune it by scribing it will be stable.
Chuck Most Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) What they said. I'd also reccomend doing the trim all as one piece, then apply it to the body and cut in the lines for the door gaps and bed sides. This will help ensure it is straight and level, and that will elimiate the possibility of the trim piece on the fender not lining up with the trim on the door, etc. Edited October 26, 2011 by Chuck Most
