route66modeler Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hi, Picked up a black johan 56 plymouth promo from Okey today at the kirkwood show. I want to make a taxi out of it and paint it yellow. Should I use white primer? Thanks,Steve
whale392 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Black generally won't bleed like the other louder colors will (Red, Orange, Yellow), so prime and paint as usual. BUT, in the instance it does, many use a barrier coat of Future to help seal the base plastic color from the subsequent primer/color coats.
Evil Appetite Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'd just shoot some aluminum metalizer over it, that should do it
BKcustoms Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I use the cheapo primer from wal mart to prime colored plastic and have never had any bleedthrough.
brad4321 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I would put Tamiya grey primer down first, followed by Tamiya white primer.
Junkman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Does this issue have 'TAXI' embossed in the doors?
