I finally finished it! The Whistler Mustang Road Racer from the 90's is done. I built all of the 80's versions and I'm starting on the 90's cars. The kit is pretty good for its age, except for the molded in detail that is almost impossible to paint, so I didn't. I foiled the chassis and interior with Aluminum BMF. The Chassis plate was a little warped, too bad I didn't notice it until half way through the build. I used red flake paint on the top and a white flake on the bottom part. The decals were a b*%@!. Typical Monogram/Revell from the old days. I reshot the wheels with Alclad Airframe Aluminum because the chrome was ######. The body is also a poor fit for the old 80's chassis. BTW, the chassis is close but no cigar for the real car. Research revealed a few problems. I was thinking of doing an all out build of the Lappalainin car, but I'd have to scratchbuild a chassis for it. I'm not so sure I'm up to it. Anyhoo, here's the photos:

I built this car a few years back and to get them to look right, you have to work it.

you did a good job on this one and see that you gave it the RAMON look!!! custom paint

C'mon Ron, as good as you are, you couldn't scratch a chassis for this? :)

Uh, no. Well, maybe! Thanks for the compliments from all of you. Funny you should mention them running back in the day, Jim, I used to watch all of the Roush cars at Mid-Ohio
