Deckerz Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 thanks man, which thickness is best to use because i have no idea
sstacey47 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I use .020 it flexable and it works well with pro weld,Iv'e found the .010 can't take the heat of the glue.Sean
Eshaver Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Either Plastruct Styreene or Evergreen Styreene strip in about a .020 thickness should be sufficient . However , you can add a piece to that to make it even thicker too should it require it also. I'm thinking you simply want a Radius wheel house . Ed Shaver
Mike Kucaba Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 The flairs on this were done with styrene of an unknown thickness and about a 1/4 inch wide. I prefer super glue as an adhesive though. After the SG dried the flairs were coated with 30minute epoxy mixed with micro-balloons added and allowed to cure. The filler dripped down and very little sanding was needed. Further shaping brought them closer to the final shape desired.
Eshaver Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Mike , very fitting treatment . I'm curious as to why Ford didn't notice that back in 1958 when they were doing the 60.......... Ed Shaver
