aaronball Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 This is a 55 Chevy I'm working on, hoping to make it turn out like the one from the 1971 movie Two-Lane Blacktop. More photos to come.
george 53 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Aaron, The 55 in Two Lane was a POST coupe, Brother. But don't stop know, cause it's lookin good!!!!
aaronball Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 Thanks for that bit of info. This is a Monogram's 55 Chevy hardtop. Only Thing I could find to work with. I plan on adding posts for the window frames. Still looking for the correct set of wheels and have lots more to do.
Craig Irwin Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 You are off to a great start! I have seen the right wheels in resin on ebay recently so yo might be lucky there. As far as the roof is concerned, the sedan roofs are much different, not just the post

Guest Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 You could use the body from the AMT '55 Chevy. It's a post body and should fit the Revell chassis.
Craig Irwin Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 It couldn't have been easy to build a cowl for both a tilt front and open doors, have any close up picts?
Mazdat Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Here's some good information on your Blacktop/Graffiti 55 Chevy that may help you in your build http://kathyschrock.net/graffiti/55.htm http://lakelandraceway.com/two-lane_blacktop2.htm

I looked at getting a Diecast on, but not sure I want to go that route. Guest Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Aaron, those old AMT '55 Chevies are a dime a dozen on ebay and can be found easily in other online shops. I think the hardtop will look cool done up like the TLB '55.

So it's back to the fabrication process.
