highway Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 That's looking very nice Jamie. Also, just to help you out, if you use the IMG code for your pics, they will show up in the post like this: Have you picked out the fenders yet? If not, Eric @ P&P Vintage Kits and Resin Works offers some nice full fenders. He posts here under the screenname Porky and here is a link to his website: http://www.ppvintagekits.com/RESIN-WORKS/RESIN-TRUCK-PARTS.html I bought a set of his full fenders (part # RF1) and I'm very pleased with them.
BigBad Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Classy two tone you have there. By the way, are the wheels aluminum, I don't see the nuts with the studs. I like the traction tires out back, Neeto!
73gmc454 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Thanks guys, Yep The front wheels are aluminum, I just havent got the lugs on yet , the rear wheels are cast resin and chromed,I also cast the tires ! heres is a link to a short sleeper lonestar , looks to have some sorta spoiler on it , http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3097861&
73gmc454 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Ok I think I got the pics figured out thanks Kurt ! PnP have some good stuff but I'll put some like these on there
Turbo590 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Jamie... Awesome on the Photobucket (thing) The aluminum fenders will rock...looking forward to seeing it in person on the next visit. Kurt
73gmc454 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Heres somin else I'm thinkin bout addin
Kostas Parchas Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) I like the way this truck looks so far. Eye cacthing two tone paint sheme, aluminum rear fenders and aluminum headache rack, what you need is a beal tanker to pull! I will have an eye on this one for sure, keep the good work coming. Kostas. Edited November 30, 2011 by Kostas Parchas
hd2500gmc Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Nice looking Lonestar the paint looks great... Did you make the headache rack or purchase it?
Ben Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks for that pic but what I meant was in the kit are there the 2 different sleeper roofs to chose from or did you have to modify the tall roof? Hey Justin, all Jamie did, to get the roof the way you see it, was to leave off the top most portion or "air dam". It's designed to where it rests on the body lines and blends in with the rest of the roof. You can think of it as an option in the kit as nothing special is needed.
73gmc454 Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks Ben, My buddy ron is building a lonestar also and he is using the roof airdamn but has a tall trailer to go with it , I'm thinkin more like a beall tanker like Kostas said I'll have to dig around to see if I have 1 , On the headache toolbox it just plastic covered with bare metal foil, looks way better in pics , I think I got it from Kurt or Ben not sure but its nice !
Truck parts Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Great looking lonestar ,and love the paint job.
Modelsbyroni Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Nice build. Thats different. Love those fenders.
Old Albion Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Excellent! Nice colour combination. Dave
skulls Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Love the job on the Lonestar btw. What colours did you pick there? The blue almost looks like a "cobalt blue met" or something, none the less it is a very sharp looking truck. As for the small wing on the top, I dont know is anyone is casting one in resin, but i do believe that the Italeri 378 peterbilt has the exact "whale tale" wing in it and from some of the builds I have been seeing it doesnt seem to be a popular piece to use in that kit. Also, completly agree with a nice chrome tanker behind that truck, it would really finish it off, and maybe with a shirter set of stacks on it, but just my opinion. Once again amazing build A+ on the worksmanship!
cargostar Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Yes, I offer a resin daycab. Pm me for details. Looking amazing Jamie!
73gmc454 Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Thanks guys , I put some half fenders on it ,
cowboysevens Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 It is looking great , them colors go great together especially with all the chrome and. Pollished aluminum. Nice work for sure
